Subject: Mission Man!
I'm a new RRE fan. First show 7/1/07. Been checking out online shows every now and then since then. Mission Man is absolutely the best jam I've heard since the Dead. Unbelievable chemistry. RRE has no jamband equals in my view. The Grateful Dead of bluegrass/newgrass!

Subject: Great
I must say, this whole show is very crisp. Nice splicing of the crowd and the music. These guys, in my opinion are one the best bands out there right now. Strong melodies, and lyrical magic.

The cover of Hobo Song is a nice treat. One of my favorite Old & In the Way tunes.

Subject: As good as it gets!
This was one of those shows where magic filtered through the entire setlist. Standard opening but then the first set veered into the outer limits with a Hunting Song>Cuckoo combo, the long-awaited return of Bread & Water, a smoking Warhead, Hobo Song (!), and a gorgeous Butterfly.

Set 2 was even wilder. Everything played was simply beyond belief. This is as good a place to start listening to the band if you never have before.

Excellent tape, too!

Notes

* Traditional air, "Shockenaw-only" John, Andy, Tim
** Andy on twin saxes
*** Spooky Stuff - during the Goat jam (aka Space Goat), everyone but Timmy
left the stage. He then joined them, leaving feedback and spooky sounds from
the crowd while some changed from their costumes.

Halloween show, costumes worn in second set:
John - Viking
Andy - Andy Ghostling, with banjo converted to scythe
Todd - Mama Stacy, complete with bubbles
Carey - right out of P-Funk
Grubb - redneck with mudflaps (Joe Dirt).
Timmy - Sgt. Pepper.
